Jan 2022 – Mar 2022 Syllabus

Week 1: Fall in Love With Your Feet

  • Orient to the bones of your feet with hands on exploration, articulating in the numerous joints and revealing the structure of your feet
  • Awaken the intrinsic muscles to successfully support the movement potentials of your feet
  • Experience the energetic gateway of the soles of the feet through a meditation on the sound vibration, Om (Aum)
  • Begin to locate the needed boundaries for each foot’s range of motion by weight bearing on different parts of your feet and moving through the range

Objective: Fall in love with each foot, in and of itself.

Materials released: Saturday, January 29th

Personal Assessment: Friday, January 4th @ 12:30pm

Week 2: Awaken the Potential of your Feet

  • Locate the center of your feet and archs by opening into the fullness of each foot’s surface area
  • Investigate the stabilizing power available within the organization of the musculature of the soles ofyour feet
  • Contemplate the ground of being, the meeting of your feet and the earth
  • Harness the energetic springboard innate to the arches of your feet and bring activation and vitality to the whole body

Objective: Stand down on your feet to bring up the responsiveness.

Materials released: Saturday, February 5th

Yoga workshop: Friday, February 11th @ 12:30pm

Week 3: Tune into your Feet

  • Explore the mobility of your feet, learning to direct the weight through a clear pathway no matter the positioning
  • Coordinate the weight transfer in your feet by distinguishing your heel foot and the ankle foot
  • Reveal the centering peacefulness found in the balance and repose of your feet
  • Cultivate the coordination and flow of weight through your ankles and feet to take lucid, life affirming steps

Objective: Balance the weight in your feet, bring coherence and dexterity.

Materials released: Saturday, February 12th

Q&A discussion: Friday, February 18th @ 12:30pm

Week 4: Receive the Blessings of your Feet

  • Exercise and challenge your feet and ankles by bringing all that we’ve explore into full body patterns and recruitment
  • Realize your feet’s potential as a strong initiator for posture, alignment, movement and expression
  • Establish your feet as a significant contributor to the well being of your body on a physical and subtle level
  • Commit to the health of your feet and ankles through regular assessment, full range activation and active listening

Objective: Fully occupy the health of your feet and enjoy a fuller expression.

Materials released: Saturday, February 19th

Yoga class: Friday, February 25th @ 2:30pm

Week 5: The Awesome Presence within Your Knees

  • Orient to the bones of your knees with hands on exploration, articulating within this impressive joint
  • Study the structures within your knees, the meniscus and cruciate ligaments, to recognize the constant, modulating presence that allows us to bow so deeply at our knees
  • Experience the supportive space within your knees through an introduction on the sound vibration of Namaha (our sanskrit syllable for the 4 weeks)
  • Begin to activate the muscles of your knees through exercises that lengthen and settle the top of your tibia forward

Objective: Soften into the supportive presence of the tissues within your knees.

Materials released: Saturday, February 26th

Yoga Class: Friday, March 4th @ 12:30pm

Week 6: Arise into Your Knees

  • Investigate the 3 compartments of your shin and their relationship with your foot, ankle and knee to bring steady presence under your knees
  • Awaken the deep muscle bellies of your shin to successfully support the movement potentials of your knee
  • Contemplate your knees as the midpoint between the earth and the deep bowl of the pelvis
  • Through the uprightness of your knees, bring presence and connection between the ankle and the hip, from the efforts in organizing and articulating with the earth and with the depth of our inner awareness

Objective: Arise from your ankles into the uprightness of your knees.

Materials released: Saturday, March 5th

Yoga class: Friday, March 11th @ 12:30pm

Week 7: Establish Clear Tracking within Your Knees

  • Explore the glide of your femur over the top of your tibia, learning to direct the weight through a clear pathway no matter the positioning
  • Coordinate the weight transfer through your knee by distinguishing the rotations between your lower and upper leg
  • Revel in the spaciousness that arises within the relationships at the juncture of your knees
  • Cultivate the coordination and flow of weight through your knees for steadiness- no matter the amount of bend or positioning

Objective: Glide between bending and straightening, bring strength and fluidity.

Materials released: Saturday, March 12th

Q&A discussion: Friday, March 18th @ 12:30pm

Week 8: Stand in the Power of Your Knees

  • Exercise and challenge your knees by bringing all that we’ve explore into full body patterns and recruitment
  • Realize your knee’s potential as a strong initiator for posture, alignment, movement, and expression
  • Establish your knees as a significant contributor to the well being of your body on a physical and subtle level
  • Commit to the health of your knees through regular assessment, full range activation and active listening

Objective: Fully occupy the health of your knees and enjoy a fuller expression.

Materials released: Saturday, March 19th

Yoga class: Friday, March 25th @ 2:30pm (14:30)
